Kent Coffey “Greenbrier” Gentleman’s Chest
Spectacular, midcentury, five drawer gentleman’s chest by Kent Coffey for the “Greenbrier” line. This chest features a pair of cabinet doors set above three drawers. These doors open via inset, sculpted pulls along the inside edges. They conceal a pair of drawers which open with small, atomic, black-backed, inset brass knob pulls. These cabinet doors feature reversible inlays which can present either a woven cane or a black vertical pin stripe design.
The lower portion of this chest has three drawers which open via long, semicircular, inset brass pulls. The upper and lower of these drawers have a single pull each, while the middle drawer has two pulls. The top drawer has a central divider.
The top of this piece has been refinished. It overhangs the case on the front and sides. This piece sits atop tapered, turned legs connected by a narrow stretcher base.
There are small spots of discoloration and dings around this piece, but it is in overall great vintage condition. See pictures for notable flaws.
