A gorgeous, midcentury, five-drawer, walnut tall chest by Bassett for their “Mayan” collection. This piece features three lower drawers which open via large, sculpted wooden pulls in the center of each drawer face with Mayan-inspired carvings. The upper two drawers open via pairs of brass, dangling pulls with Mayan-inspired engraving. A carved frame surrounds all five drawers and separates the lower three from the upper two. The top of this piece arches up and out from the case. This piece sits atop elegant, tall, splayed spider legs attached by a stretcher base. Some dark spots on top and patination to pulls—see pics. In great vintage condition.
