A fantastically-designed, midcentury, walnut gentleman’s chest by Young Manufacturing Company. This piece features seven drawers, four of which are concealed behind a pair of cabinet doors. These cabinet doors sit at the top of the piece and open via uniquely styled, patinated metal pulls. The door faces have a contoured, ridged design. Each door conceals a pair of small drawers.
Below the cabinet doors are three large drawers which open by long horizontal pulls, which match those of the cabinet doors, running along the edges of each drawer face. These lower drawers offer significant storage.
This piece sits atop tapered turned legs. The cabinet doors are inset from the lower portion of the case. The top of this piece overhangs the cabinet in the front and on the sides. There is some scratching, chipping to edges, and dark spots on the top of this piece. There are also some tiny chips to lower edges. See pics for blemishes. This piece is in overall great vintage condition.
